Dream Emission
Work created in 2025/4/19
「'Emission of Dreams' is an interactive web art piece themed around threshold consciousness and the fragmentation of the self.
Set against a black abyss, the work visualizes waves of shifting consciousness, merging the visualization of words and sound waves to draw the viewer into the liminal space between dream and reality.
Beginning with the text, '4:17 a.m. A thin ray of light sneaks in through the gap in the curtains. It is not yet day, but no longer night. A mysterious time, as if the world exists within parentheses,' the fragmentary, ever-changing text poetically captures the flow of consciousness.
At the core of the work is a visual symphony woven from shifting text and purple waveforms.
The waveforms, reminiscent of sound or brain waves, transform in tandem with the content of the text.
This relationship can be interpreted as an embodiment of the ceaseless waves of thought generated beneath our consciousness.
Technically, the work utilizes HTML canvas and JavaScript to organically fuse visual and linguistic elements.
The presence of a hidden narration feature suggests that the piece is conceived not merely as text art, but as a multimodal experience that also engages the auditory sense.
By taking on the challenge of 'externalizing the inner voice,' the work explores the possibilities of poetic expression in digital space.
By reconstructing subjective conscious experience as objective data visualization, it questions the relationship between technology and introspection in the contemporary era.
To experience this work is to confront one’s own internal landscape in externalized form, prompting the viewer to re-examine the flow of their own consciousness.
As the title 'Emission of Dreams' suggests, by releasing thoughts and sensations that well up from the unconscious, the work blurs the boundaries between the digital and the human, presenting new possibilities for self-awareness.
